  1、 buy 用法:buy sth、 for 5 dollars; buy sth、 for sb。

  Note: call at后面跟地點;call on 后面跟人。

  5、 care 用法:take care of; with care; care for/about

  Note: care about表示在乎,常用于否定句;care for表示關心,喜愛,常用于肯定句。

  6、 carry 用法:carry表示搬運;carry on表示進行;堅持下去;carry out表示執(zhí)行。

  Note: carry沒有方向性,可以表示隨身攜帶。

  7、 case 用法:in case; in case of; in any case; in this/that case

  Note: in case后面的狀語從句可以用虛擬語氣,即in case sb、 should do的形式。

  8、 catch 用法:catch the thief; catch fire; catch a cold; catch up with, catch sb、 doing sth。

  1、一般現(xiàn)在時:

  一般現(xiàn)在時大多用動詞原形來表示。Behave在人稱和數(shù)上應按自己的變化規(guī)則與主語保持一致。其他動詞若其主語是第三人稱單數(shù),則應按動詞第三人稱單數(shù)的變化規(guī)律變化。

 。1)表示主語現(xiàn)在所處的狀態(tài)及所具備的特征、性格、能力等。 Eg:They are both tired and hungry、

 。2)表示習慣性的,反復出現(xiàn)的動作與狀態(tài)。

  常用時間狀語:always often sometimes now and then every day

  2、現(xiàn)在進行時:

 。1)表示說話時正在進行的動作;

 。2)表示即將發(fā)生的或按計劃安排好的動作,多限于go,come,start,leave,return,arrive,stay,fly等表示運動方向的動詞,句中往往有表示將來的時間狀語。

  強調句 (The Emphatic Pattern) 是一種修辭,是人們?yōu)榱吮磉_自己的意愿或情感而使用的一種形式。通過各種方式對句子中的某個部分進行強調,從而起到修辭的作用。英語常用的強調結構有:It is (was)+被強調部分(主語、賓語或狀語)+that/who...;what…be…句型;

  強調句的使用:

  一、強調句句型:

  1、用It is/was...that/who...句型表示強調。

 。1)陳述句的強調句型:It is/was+被強調部分(通常是主語、賓語或狀語)+that/who(當強調主語且主語指人)+其它部分。

  e.g. It was yesterday that he met Li Ping.

 。2)一般疑問句的強調句型:同上,只是把is/was提到it前面。

  e.g. Was it yesterday that he met Li Ping?

  (3)特殊疑問句的強調句型:被強調部分(通常是疑問代詞或疑問副詞)+is/was+it+that/who+其它部分?

  e.g. When and where was it that you were born?

  注:被強調的部分(通常是句子的主語、狀語、賓語或賓語補足語)放在is/was的后面,如被強調的是人,則后面可用who,whom等代替。

  如:原句:He met an old friend in the park yesterday.

  強調主語:It was he who/that met an old friend in the park yesterday.

  強調賓語:It was an old friend that/who he met in the park yesterday.

  強調地點狀語:It was in the park that he met an old friend yesterday.

  二、not...until...句型的強調句:

  1、句型為:It is/was not until+被強調部分+that+其它部分:

  e.g. 普通句:He didn't go to bed until/till his wife came back.

  強調句:It was not until his wife came back that he went to bed.

  2、注意:此句型只用until,不用till。但如果不是強調句型,till, until可通用;

  因為句型中It is/was not...已經是否定句了,that后面的從句要用肯定句,切勿再用否定句了。

  三、謂語動詞的強調:

  1、It is/was...that...結構不能強調謂語,如果需要強調謂語時,用助動詞do/does或did。

  e.g. Do sit down.務必請坐。

  He did write to you last week. 上周他確實給你寫了信。

  Do be careful when you cross the street. 過馬路時,務必(千萬)要小心。

  2、注意:此種強調只用do/does和did,沒有別的形式;過去時用did,后面的謂語動詞用原形。

  使用強調句型有以下幾點請注意:

  1、句首詞用“It”,不能用“This”,“That”等。

  2、be動詞的形式是is或was,不能用復數(shù)形式are或were。若原句的謂語動詞用了現(xiàn)在時或將來時,則用is;

  (一)定義及相關術語

  1.定語從句:修飾某一名詞或代詞的從句叫定語從句。定語從句一般緊跟在它所修飾的先行詞之后。

  2.先行詞:被定語從句修飾的詞叫先行詞。

  3.關系詞:引導定語從句的詞叫關系詞。

  that, which, who, whom, whose, as等;關系副詞有when, where, why等。

  關系詞通常有下列三個作用:A、引導定語從句;B、代替先行詞;C、在定語從句中擔當一個成分。例如:

  The man who is shaking hands with my father is a policeman. 該句中,who is shaking hands with my father是定語從句,修飾先行詞the man, “who”是引導定語從句的關系詞,代替先行詞the man,在定語從句中作主語。

  (二)關系代詞引導的定語從句

  1.who 指人,在定語從句中作主語或賓語,當賓語可以省略。

  ④ That is the teacher who teaches us physics. 那就是教我們物理的老師。

  2.whom 指人,在定語從句中做賓語,可省略。

 、 Mr. Liu is the person ( whom ) you talked about on the bus.

  劉先生就是你們在公共汽車上談論的那個人。

 、 Li Ming is just the boy ( whom ) I want to see. 李明正是我想要見的男孩。

  ③ The professor ( whom ) you are waiting for has come. 你正在等的教授已經來了。

 、 The girl ( whom ) the teacher often praises is our monitor.

  老師經常表揚的那個女孩是我們的班長。

  注意:關系代詞whom在口語或非正式文體中常可用who來代替,也可省略。 The man ( whom / who )you met just now is my old friend.

  3.Which指物,在定語從句中做主語或賓語,做賓語時可省略。

  ① Football is a game which is liked by most boys. 足球是大多數(shù)男孩所喜歡的運動。

  ② The factory which makes computers is far away from here. 制造計算機的那家公司離這兒很遠。

 、 He likes to read books which are written by foreign writers. 他喜歡外國作家寫的書。

 、 The house which is by the lake looks nice. 湖邊的那幢房子看上去很漂亮。

 、 This is the pen ( which ) he bought yesterday. 這是他昨天買的鋼筆。

 、 The film ( which ) they went to see last night was not interesting at all.

  他們昨晚看的電影一點意思也沒有。

  4.That指人時,相當于who或whom;指物時,相當于which.。在定語從句中作主語或賓語,作賓語時可省略。

 、 The number of people that / who come to visit this city each year reaches one million.

  每年來參觀這座城市的人數(shù)達一百萬。

 、 Where is the man that / whom I saw this morning? 我今天早上看到的那個人在哪兒?

  ③ The person that /whom you introduced to me is very kind. 你介紹給我的那個人很友好。

 、 The season that / which comes after spring is summer. 春天以后的季節(jié)是夏季。

 、 Yesterday I received a letter that / which came from Australia.

  昨天我收到了一封來自澳大利亞的信。

  5.Whose 通常指人,也可指物,在定語從句中做定語。

  ① I visited a scientist whose name is known all over the country.

  我拜訪了一個全國知名的科學家。

 、 He has a friend whose father is a doctor. 他有一個爸爸當醫(yī)生的朋友。

 、 I once lived in the house whose roof has fallen in. 我曾經住在那幢屋頂已經倒塌了的房子里。

  注意:指物時,常用下列結構來代替:

  The classroom whose door is broken will soon be repaired.

  {The classroom the door of which is broken will soon be repaired.

  Do you like the book whose cover is yellow?

  {Do you like the book the cover of which is yellow?

  6.關系代詞that與which的用法區(qū)別

  (1)which可引導非限制性定語從句中,that不能

  He didn’t come back home on time, which made his father very angry.

  他沒有按時回家,這使他的父親很生氣。

  (2)which之前可以有介詞,that之前則不能有介詞

  This is the house in which Lu Xun used to live. 這就是魯迅過去居住的房子。

  (3)that和which都指物時,以下4種情況,用that而不用which

 、傧刃性~是all, much, anything, something, nothing, everything, little, none等不定代詞 This is all that I want to say. 這就是我想要說的。

  There is nothing that can terrify him. 沒有什么能嚇住他。

  There was little that I could do for you. 我不能為你做什么。

 、谙刃性~被形容詞最高級以及first, last, any, only, few, most, no, some, very等詞修飾 This is the first composition (that) he has written in English. 這是他用英語寫的第一篇文章。

  This is the best novel (that) I have ever read. 這是我讀過的最好的小說。

  ③當人和物合做先行詞時

  He talked about the teachers and schools that he had visited. 他談了他拜訪過的老師和參觀過的學校。

 、茉谝蓡栐~who, which, that開頭的句子中

  Who is the man that spoke to you at the gate. 那個在門那邊跟你講話的男人是誰?

  Which is the star that is nearest to the earth? 那一顆星星離地球最近。

  (三)關系副詞引導的定語從句

  1.關系副詞在從句中分別表示時間.地點或原因。關系副詞when在從句中充當時間狀語,where 充當?shù)攸c狀語,why充當原因狀語。

  ① I know the reason why he came late. 我知道他遲到的原因。

 、 This is the place where we lived for five years. 這就是我們住了五年的地方。

  ③ I will forget the days when I met Mr. Liu. 我不會忘記遇見劉先生的那一天。

  注意:定語從句先行詞用關系代詞還是關系副詞:引導詞在句中做主語、賓語、表語就用that, which,否則就用where。

 、 This is the house where he lived last year.

  These are the houses that/which were built 10 years ago.

 、 I’ll never forget the days (that/which) we spent together.

  Do you still remember the days when we first met?

 、 Can you explain to us the reason why you came late?

  I don’t believe the reason which (that) he explained to us.

  2.where/when/why=介詞+關系代詞(which/whom),注意不可加that

  This is the house where he lived last year.

  {in which

  The gentleman about whom you told me yesterday proved to be a thief.

  你昨天告訴我的那個紳士證實是個小偷。

  (四)限制性和非限制性定語從句

  1. 限制定語從句緊跟先行詞,引導詞同先行詞之間一般不加逗號,僅修飾先行詞,可以由關系代詞.關系副詞或that來引導,去掉它意思不明確。非限制性定語從句僅作補充或說明,用逗號與主句隔開,不可用that引導,去掉引導詞不會影響主句的意思。

  This is the house which we bought last night.

  The house, which we bought last night, is very nice.

  2. 非限制性定語從句既可修飾先行詞,又可修飾整個主句

  He seemed not to have grasped what I meant, which greatly upset me. 他似乎沒有領會我的意思,這使我非常心煩。

  (五)as引導的定語從句

  1.as多與such 或the same連用,出現(xiàn)在the same…as, such…as, so…as, as…as等結構中

  ①This is such a difficult problem as nobody can work out.

  {that nobody can work it out.

 、赥his is the same pen as I lost. 這支鋼筆同我丟失的一樣。

 、跦ere is so big a stone as no man can lift. 這塊石頭大得沒人能搬得起。

  2. the same… that與 the same …as在意思上是不同的

  I have bought the same watch as you. 我買了一塊和你一樣的手表。(不是同一塊) This is the same watch that I lost. 這就是我丟的那塊手表。(同一塊)

  3.as 也可單獨使用,引導非限制性定語從句,作用相當于which。as引導的非限制性定語從句位置較靈活,可以位于主句前面.中間或后面,一般用逗號與主句隔開,但which所引導的非限制性定語從句只能放在主句之后。

  The elephant’s nose is like a snake, as anybody can see.

  As we know, smoking is harmful to the one’s health.

  The sun heats the earth, which is very important to us.
