The next morning, I woke up early and put on my new clothes. My parents gave me and my siblings ang pao, or red envelopes with money inside, which is a traditional custom during Chinese New Year. Later, we visited our relatives and friends, wishing them a happy new year and saying “gong xi fa cai”.
I will never forget this special Chinese New Year. It reminded me of the importance of family reunion and Chinese customs and traditions.
