大家晚上好!非常歡迎大家光臨中國(guó)駐曼徹斯特總領(lǐng)事官邸，出席我的到任招待會(huì)。

It is indeed a great pleasure to welcome you to my residence on this happy occasion this evening. Thank you for honoring us with your presence.

我們?nèi)�家�?0月27日抵達(dá)曼徹斯特。一個(gè)多月來，我們結(jié)識(shí)了很多新朋友，了解了不少領(lǐng)區(qū)情況。雖然冬天已經(jīng)降臨，天氣開始轉(zhuǎn)冷，但我們依然感受到了領(lǐng)區(qū)政府、人民和僑界對(duì)我們的友好與熱情。我們很快地適應(yīng)了在這個(gè)美麗而友好的城市的新生活，衷心感謝大家對(duì)我們的支持和幫助。

My family and I arrived in Manchester on 27 October. Since then, we have met many new friends, and learned a lot about the United Kingdom and in particular, our consular area. Although winter is just around the corner, we feel the warmth of the local councils, the local people, and the Chinese community. And we have found ourselves quickly adapted to our new life in this beautiful and friendly city. Thank you all for your kind support and help in the past month.

我到曼徹斯特的時(shí)間雖然不長(zhǎng)，但這一個(gè)多月的感受，使我更加認(rèn)識(shí)到中英關(guān)系的重要性。近年來，中英關(guān)系保持著良好發(fā)展勢(shì)頭。以領(lǐng)區(qū)為例，雙方的經(jīng)濟(jì)合作關(guān)系在互利基礎(chǔ)上穩(wěn)步向前，文化、教育、科技等各領(lǐng)域的交流充滿活力而富有成果。明年還將迎來中英建立大使級(jí)外交關(guān)系40周年，兩國(guó)關(guān)系面臨著新的發(fā)展機(jī)遇，我們對(duì)中英友好合作關(guān)系的發(fā)展充滿信心。中英關(guān)系的發(fā)展不僅符合中英兩國(guó)的根本利益，更是對(duì)世界和平發(fā)展的重要貢獻(xiàn)。

This is my first tour in Manchester. But my one-month experience here has already enabled me to see how important China-UK relationship is. In recent years, China-UK relationship has picked up a good momentum. Take our consular area as an example. Its economic cooperation with China continues to grow steadily to our mutual benefit. Exchanges in cultural, educational, scientific and technological fields are dynamic and productive. As we look forward to the 40th anniversary of our ambassadorial- level diplomatic relations next year, we are confident that our friendly relations and cooperation will continue to grow. This will not only serve the fundamental interests of our two countries, but will also contribute to peace and development of the world at large.

今年是社會(huì)經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展十二五規(guī)劃的開局之年。根據(jù)該規(guī)劃，在今后五年內(nèi)，中國(guó)將致力于進(jìn)一步深化改革開放、加快經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展方式轉(zhuǎn)變，實(shí)現(xiàn)科學(xué)發(fā)展，積極擴(kuò)大內(nèi)外需求，提高利用外資質(zhì)量和效益，并支持中國(guó)企業(yè)走出去，全面參與國(guó)際合作。未來五年，每年我們將進(jìn)口超過一萬億英鎊的商品。這必將為中國(guó)與英國(guó)以及世界其他地區(qū)的經(jīng)濟(jì)合作帶來巨大的商機(jī)。

This year is the starting year of China’s Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Social and Economic Development. According to the Plan, China will continue to deepen reform and opening-up and change the pattern of economic growth so as to obtain scientific development. We will expand domestic demands, make better use of foreign investment, and support Chinese businesses in “going global”. It is estimated that China will import more than 1 trillion pounds of goods every year in the next five years. This will bring about tremendous opportunities for economic cooperation between China and the UK and the rest of the world.

中英兩國(guó)同為世界上有影響力的國(guó)家，兩國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)充分互補(bǔ)，合作具有先天優(yōu)勢(shì)。我們歡迎英國(guó)工商界人士積極參與中國(guó)改革和現(xiàn)代化進(jìn)程。一些英國(guó)朋友告訴我，英國(guó)目前正在采取措施，爭(zhēng)取早日徹底走出國(guó)際金融危機(jī)的陰影，英國(guó)歡迎來自中國(guó)的投資，也希望將其富有競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力的商品出口到中國(guó)。本月初在倫敦成功召開了中英基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施投資大會(huì)，向兩國(guó)企業(yè)界發(fā)出了明確信號(hào)。我們希望與英方一道，努力增進(jìn)相互了解，鼓勵(lì)兩國(guó)企業(yè)開展合作，推動(dòng)中英全面戰(zhàn)略伙伴關(guān)系向前發(fā)展。
